Three Things That Get You Through Hard Times in Life

Anyone with a bit of experience under their belt knows life isn't always sunshine and rainbows.  In the blink of an eye, everything can go from bright and sunny to dark and depressing.  Where you were once filled with hope, you can find yourself feeling hopeless.

Regardless of where you may be at and what you may be going through, you'll find strength to get through when you're fuelled by a clear vision, combined with faith and perseverance.

Vision

Getting through the hard times in life is much easier when you have a vision before you of what you want to achieve, or where you want to get to.  You can work out the details as you go forward, but you first need to have a vision of what you're going towards.

Perhaps you're working through a period of change or uncertainty; you're not sure what you want to do or where you want to get to.  Maybe you're fighting just to make it through each day.  Looking too far ahead may be difficult, and you can only focus on your immediate next steps.  That's okay; ultimately, what matters is that you cultivate a vision you can fix your eyes on, commit to, and wholeheartedly pursue.  This serves as a powerful reminder that regardless of what you're currently experiencing. something better awaits.

Faith

Once you have your vision in place, faith is your belief that you'll succeed in achieving it.  That doesn't mean you won’t experience doubt, fear, uncertainty or insecurity along the way.  But in spite of all those feelings, you cling to the conviction that you'll see things through.

Faith is a huge factor in taking your vision and turning it into reality.  During those times when the road ahead looks dark, and especially when you have limited support, having and maintaining faith in yourself is essential.

Perseverance

Perseverance is where the rubber meets the road.  It's where you follow through, stay the course, and commit to seeing things through.  Whenever you see someone who has overcome difficulties in order to accomplish something worthwhile, you can be certain that perseverance is part of their backstory; that individual held on and persevered long enough to see things come to fruition.

There are times when everything seems to be stacked against you and there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.  Those times can be exhausting, frightening, and overwhelming.  However, those are also the times that "test your mettle" and reveal what you're truly made of.

If you grab hold of your vision, cling to your faith, and persevere through the difficulties, you'll not only get through the hard times; you'll emerge even stronger than before.
